Is this an insurance plan?
No. This is an OPD benefit subscription from Livlong 365, not an insurance policy. It does not cover hospitalisation or surgery. What it does is pay you back for everyday medical spending: doctor visits, lab tests and medicines, up to the limits of the plan you pick. Think of it as a yearly membership for routine healthcare, not cover for a medical emergency.
Do I need an existing health insurance policy to use this?
No. You can subscribe and use it on its own, even if you hold no insurance at all. Most people use it alongside a health policy, because the two do different jobs: insurance handles hospitalisation, this handles the everyday doctor and pharmacy bills insurance normally does not touch.
Why is it so cheap? What is the catch?
There is no catch, but there is a reason. Livlong 365 is a growing healthcare and diagnostics platform, and plans like this are priced to bring people onto it and keep them using it. The limits are published openly on this page rather than buried in fine print: up to ₹500 per claim, one claim per category per month, with yearly caps depending on your plan. The low price buys a real but capped benefit. It is not a trick, it is simply a smaller promise than an insurance policy makes.
What terms should I know before buying?
Four that matter. You can claim up to ₹500 per claim, one claim per category per month, across consultations, lab tests and medicines. The name on your prescriptions and bills must match the name on your subscription letter exactly, which is the single most common reason a claim gets rejected. Each plan carries its own yearly limit of ₹1,000, ₹2,000 or ₹3,500 and its own checkup of 33 or 83 parameters. The plan runs one year from purchase and covers one person.
Can I buy this directly from Livlong?
No. Livlong distributes this plan only through selected partners, and RiskPe is one of them. The plan, the pricing and the benefits are all set by Livlong. Buying through RiskPe costs you no more and changes nothing about what you get.
What is included in the free health checkup?
Plan 1 and Plan 2 include a 33 parameter checkup covering a complete blood count, liver function, renal function, fasting blood sugar and a lipid profile. Plan 3 includes an 83 parameter checkup, a considerably wider panel. The checkup is included once a year at no extra cost, and for most buyers it is the single clearest reason the plan pays for itself.
How do I make a claim?
You claim through Livlong, not through RiskPe. After your consultation, test or pharmacy purchase, you submit the prescription and the bill to Livlong, with the name on both matching your subscription letter. Reimbursement is up to ₹500 per claim, one claim per category per month, within your plan’s yearly limit. Keep your bills, because a claim without a matching prescription and bill will not go through.
Can I buy this for my parents or my family?
Each subscription covers one person, so a family of four needs four subscriptions. You can buy them in separate transactions under each person’s name. The name matters: whoever is named on the subscription letter is the only person whose prescriptions and bills can be claimed, so buy it in the name of the person who will actually use it. For parents in particular, the unlimited doctor calls and the yearly checkup tend to be the parts that get used most.
What is the difference between an OPD plan and health insurance?
Health insurance pays when you are admitted to hospital. It usually pays nothing for a routine doctor visit, a blood test or a strip of tablets, which is where most households actually spend money month to month. An OPD plan is the opposite: it covers the small, frequent costs and nothing large. They are not alternatives, they are two halves of the same problem. If you can only have one, have health insurance, because a hospitalisation is the bill that can ruin you. An OPD plan is what you add once that is in place.
Is this available in my city?
Yes, the subscription works anywhere in India. Doctor consultations are unlimited and happen over phone or video, so your location does not affect those. Reimbursement for tests and medicines works on bills from anywhere in the country. The discounted lab network varies by city, so if you are counting on a specific lab, check it is covered in your area first.
Who do I contact if something goes wrong?
The plan is underwritten and serviced by Livlong, so claims, reimbursements and service issues are handled by them, and RiskPe does not control those outcomes. What RiskPe can do is help you escalate if you get stuck. Call us on +91 80761 61602 or email office@riskpe.in and we will push it from our side.
